Ercros sponsors the Experimenta Challenge in Tarragona

Ercros has sponsored a new edition of the Experimenta a l'Aula Challenge, an initiative that aims to bring experimentation closer to secondary school students in order to awaken their interest and vocation for science. On this occasion, it was Sergi Fuster, plastics R&D technician from the Vila-seca II factory who helped the young scientists from the Santa Teresa de Jesús School from Tarragona to check how chemical reactions work while carry out the lava light experiment.

Sergi Fuster, apart from helping the students with the experiment, brought a sample of the PVC powder that is produced in Vila-seca II to explain to them how this material is manufactured and what are its main applications. In addition, he took advantage of the visit to the Santa Teresa School to give them a fireproof blanket, a safety element, mandatory in all laboratories that serves to put out in seconds any accidental fire that could occur during the activities of experimentation.

Ercros has been collaborating for years with the Experimenta Challenge, a project promoted by the Rovira i Virgili University, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research.
