The Monzón factory reduces its emissions rate by 89%

The Ercros factory in Monzón reduced its emissions rate by 89% in 2018 compared to the previous year. The emissions index measures the substances emitted into the air and water and the waste generated, and is a faithful reflection of the company's commitment to the environment and sustainability. Compared to the average of the last five years, this center reduced its emissions by 73%.

This factory also presents very good results in terms of safety, since it has gone almost five years without any occupational accident with leave, both among its own and external personnel. The last accident recorded at the center occurred in October 2014.

In Ercros as a whole, the rate of direct greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 11%, while the rate of total emissions has been reduced by 15.5% in homogeneous terms compared to 2017.

With regard to the accident rate of the company as a whole, the general frequency rate of own accidents – which measures the number of accidents with and without loss of own personnel for every million hours worked – fell by 34% between 2017 and 2018.

The Monzón factory has been in the European EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) registry for 13 years. The center has also approved its environmental management system according to the ISO 14001:2015 standard; quality according to ISO 9001:2015; and prevention according to the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard.

The Ercros factory in Huesca belongs to the chlorine derivatives division and is focused on the production of PVC compounds, with multiple applications: cables, waterproofing sheets, pipes, shoe soles, plugs, films and containers, blinds and electrical conduits. . One of the R&D departments of said division is located in this center.
