The Ercros factory in Aranjuez, where more than 200 people work, in 2019 did not suffer any accidents among its own personnel and reduced its general accident rate by 7% – which measures accidents between its own and external personnel (with and without sick leave) for every million hours worked– compared to 2018. Compared to the average of the last five years, the reduction has reached 30%.

In environmental protection, the Ercros center in Aranjuez has reduced its emissions index by 11.5%, which measures the substances emitted into the air and water and the waste generated. This reduction reaches 16% if we compare it with the average of recent years.

The factory's quality index – which measures the number of tons of products affected by customer complaints about the number of tons sold – improved by 2.5% compared to the previous year.

The Aranjuez factory belongs to the Ercros pharmacy division and is dedicated to the production and marketing of pharmaceutical active ingredients (raw materials and intermediate products), mainly from the range of antibiotics; Among them, azithromycin stands out, which is especially indicated to combat respiratory tract infections, which made it highly demanded by the health system during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2019, at Ercros as a whole, the general accident frequency rate fell by 36% compared to 2018 and stood at the lowest value in the last 10 years.

The Ercros factory in Aranjuez has its environmental management system approved, according to the ISO 14001 standard; quality, according to the ISO 9001 standard; and prevention, according to the OHSAS 18001 standard (in the process of migration to ISO 45001).

Ercros' performance in all aspects of sustainability has earned it the Platinum classification awarded by the EcoVadis international rating, obtaining a score of 77 out of 100. With this score, Ercros is among the 1% of companies with this rating. better compliance with environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.
