Fernando Burgueño, new director of the Ercros Cerdanyola factory
Fernando Burgueño Iglesias has been appointed, with effect from October 2, director of the Ercros factory in Cerdanyola, replacing Ramón Jané Pañella, who becomes deputy industrial director of the intermediate chemicals division.
Fernando Burgueño has a degree in Chemistry from the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona. He has completed a Master’s degree in occupational risk prevention at the European Institute of Health and Social Welfare and a Master's degree in safety management at the National University of Distance Education (UNED).
He joined Ercros in 2000, when he was appointed deputy director of the Aragonesas Delsa factory in Les Franqueses del Vallès; subsequently, since 2003 he worked as head of prevention in the Tarragona complex, first with Aragonesas and then, since 2005, with Ercros. His last position before this appointment was that of head of operations of the Vila-seca I factory.
Ramón Jané was appointed director of the Cerdanyola factory on September 1, 2020. Previously, he had held the position of head of laboratory, development, and technical assistance of the factory.
The Ercros factory in Cerdanyola is integrated into the intermediate chemistry division and its workforce is about 100 people. In 2022 it reached sales of 25 million euros, 90% of which was destined for export. This factory is focused on the production, tailored to customers, of more than 250 types of moulding compounds, a thermosetting material used to manufacture electrical equipment (switches and plugs); sanitary lids and seats, and toilet accessories; crockery and trays; stoppers for the cosmetics and perfumery industry; bellboy; billiard balls; etc.
