Ercros has received the “Monzón-Cinca Medio Company award in the Innovation category” for the development of its biomaterials and PVC-based materials that are produced in its factory in Monzón (Huesca).

Rafael Mancho, head of this centre, accompanied by Belén Pascual, head of R&D at the factory, collected the award from Isaac Claver, major of Ercros.

This is the third edition of these awards, which recognize the potential of a region and the visibility of the business network of the area, and which are organized by the Monzón-Cinca Medio Business Association, with the collaboration of the Development area of the Monzón City Council, the Aragonese Development Institute and the Cinca Medio Region.

Ercros' Monzón factory focuses on the research, development and production of technologically and environmentally advanced polymers, such as rigid and flexible PVC compounds –which it sells under the Etinox brand– and the ErcrosBio range of biopolymers. Likewise, it has among its facilities a PVC polymerization pilot plant. Currently, the factory's R&D area has three ongoing national and international projects in collaboration with the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (“CDTI”), and the State Research Agency (“AEI”), dependent on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Ercros has five patents registered and in force, and two in process, and has four own R&D centres, located in the factories of Aranjuez, Monzón, Sabiñánigo and Tortosa, which serve the pharmaceuticals, plastics, basic chemicals and intermediate chemicals activities, respectively
