Cerdanyola surpasses its own record of days without occupational accidents
The Ercros factory in Cerdanyola celebrates today 1,400 days without accidents at work with sick leave among its own staff, almost four years in a row without accidents. A figure that exceeds its own record of 1,386 days.
In the words of its director, Héctor Barón, this success "is the result of the joint work and a job well done by the current and past staff of the factory, from the technical staff and process operators, through the maintenance and laboratory staff"
Barón also assured that this milestone should be a reason to do things even better and continue to add successes and accident-free days.
Cerdanyola, like the rest of Ercros' factories, establishes occupational health and safety control according to the international standard ISO 45001. A guideline that requires, in addition to complying with safety regulations, to identify and control the risks to which the workforce is exposed, to continuously improve the working environment and to encourage staff participation.
Additionally, since 2023, Cerdanyola has accredited its healthy organization management system (Sigos). This system not only contemplates the prevention of people's health, but also promotes and encourages healthy lifestyle habits.
The Cerdanyola factory belongs to the intermediate chemicals division of Ercros, has a staff of 86 people and is dedicated to the production of moulding compounds; a material that is used to manufacture objects as diverse as plugs, switches, bathroom accessories, caps for the cosmetics industry or billiard balls. It should also be noted that more than 90% of the production of this factory is destined for export.
