Enrique Solano, head of industrial relations at the Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo, explained that one of the biggest challenges of the chemical industry is motivating its staff to continue training, since this improves performance and productivity, in addition to facilitating adaptation to a constantly evolving environment.

Solano has participated, representing Ercros, in the National Training Day for Chemical Industries, held in Zaragoza under the motto “Innovation and Training in Chemistry”, organized by the Business Federation of the Spanish Chemical Industry (Feique).

In his speech, the representative of Ercros spoke of the need to adapt training to the different profiles and jobs, despite the difficulty of making it compatible with work activity. He also highlighted the importance of companies in the sector collaborating with vocational training centres and hosting internship students, to ensure the qualification of future professionals.

Solano regretted that vocational training (FP) continues to be undervalued and defended the need to promote it, especially in technological branches where there is a growing demand for qualified talent.

The event has brought together experts from the educational, business and union fields to address the training challenges of the sector in the face of regulatory, technological and skills changes.
