The Ercros factory in Monzón celebrates 10 years without accidents

Monzón,

The Ercros factory in Monzón has celebrated 10 years without occupational accidents with sick leave, a historic milestone that, in the words of the head of the PVC compounds and specialties line and head of the factory, Rafael Mancho, demonstrates the commitment of the workforce to the goal of zero accidents.

In a letter addressed to the employees of the factory, Mancho explained that the last accident with sick leave at the centre, which occurred 10 years ago, "served as an incentive to remind us that not everything is done, that there is always something more to avoid the accident, which is always waiting to manifest itself."

Monzón, like the rest of the Ercros factories, establishes the control of its occupational health and safety according to the international standard ISO 45001. A guideline that requires, in addition to complying with safety regulations, identifying and controlling the risks to which the workforce is exposed, continuously improving the work environment and encouraging staff participation.

In addition, since 2023 Monzón has accredited its healthy organization management system (Sigos). This system not only encompasses prevention in people's health, but also promotes and encourages healthy lifestyle habits.

The Monzón factory is part of the chlorine derivatives division of Ercros and began its activity in 1952. The centre is dedicated to the production and research of technologically advanced and environmentally friendly polymers, such as PVC compounds and ErcrosBio biopolymer range. In this sense, the factory has the Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry certification.
