Ercros sponsors the Experimenta in the Classroom Challenge

The technician from the environmental department of the Vila-seca II factory, Fernando Rodriguez, has been the scientific sponsor of a group of second year ESO students from the Institut Escola Mediterrani in Tarragona, within the framework of the Experiment in the Classroom Challenge.

The experiment chosen by the students was the construction of a coloured lava lamp using household materials and products. The Ercros technician explained to them, first, the guidelines for working safely in a laboratory, to then propose a scientific work hypothesis. It was the students themselves who investigated the phenomena, properties and elements of their experiment, and they chose hydrogen as an element of the periodic table on which to deepen their knowledge.

Ercros has been collaborating for years with the Experiment Challenge, a project promoted by the Rovira i Virgili University, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Catalan Institute for Chemical Research, whose objective is to promote scientific vocations among primary and secondary students.
