A hundred university students visit the Sabiñánigo factory

The Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo has been visited by more than a hundred students from the University of Zaragoza ("Unizar") organized in two days. In total, 102 students from the bachelor’s degree in chemistry, the master's degree in industrial chemistry and the master's degree in molecular chemistry and homogeneous catalysis participated, accompanied by four professors.
The two days began with a general presentation by Ercros technical staff. Next, the students took a tour of the facilities, accompanied by Ercros staff and visited the hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorate and chlorine – caustic soda plants.
These visits, organized annually by the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of Unizar, aim to offer students a direct vision of the operation of a chemical plant, to complement the theoretical content taught in the classroom. Year after year, both students and teachers highlight the value of this experience as a unique opportunity to get to know the productive environment of the chemical sector up close.
The Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo arouses special interest among the students because it allows them to observe first-hand very different plants and manufacturing processes, which enriches the visit from a training point of view.
