We advocate in favour of European medicine production

Mª Carmen Cruzado, director of the pharmaceuticals division of Ercros and the Aranjuez factory, has participated in the X Edition of Farmaforum Spain, which was held at the IFEMA facilities in Madrid.

Cruzado gave the lecture "Manufacturing of APIs (active pharmaceutical ingredients) in Spain, a challenge and an opportunity". In her conference, the director of the pharmaceuticals division highlighted the opportunity of having APIs manufacturers in Spain and the European Union to avoid situations of shortages of medicines and guarantee access to them. 

Farmaforum is the leading Spanish trade fair for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and cosmetics industry, and has more than 280 exhibitors. During the sectoral meeting, a programme of presentations, workshops and discussions panels is also held in parallel.

The pharmaceuticals division of Ercros, located entirely in the Aranjuez factory, is dedicated to the manufacture of generic APIs, mainly antibiotics and, to a lesser extent, anti-hypertensive and anti-ulcer drugs.
