Aranjuez certifies its energy management with the ISO 50001

Aranjuez,

The Ercros factory in Aranjuez has obtained certification of its energy management in accordance with the ISO 50001 standard. In this way, it joins the factories in Almussafes, Sabiñánigo, Tortosa and the industrial complex in Tarragona, which are already accredited according to this international standard.

This standard helps companies to implement their energy policies and properly manage the energy aspects of their activity. This translates into tangible and quantifiable savings in energy costs, as well as a more efficient and sustainable use of natural resources. More than 95% of the energy consumed in Ercros is managed in accordance with this standard.

With this new certification, Ercros takes another step forward in its commitment to the fight against climate change by reducing its energy expenditure and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Aranjuez factory belongs to the pharmaceutical division of Ercros and has a workforce of 200 people. Its main activity is the production and sale of active pharmaceutical ingredients ("APIs"), especially from the antibiotic family. The factory exports 93% of its production and is the world's second largest manufacturer of fusidic acid and the third largest in fosfomycin.
