At full capacity the expansion of the tablets plant in Sabiñánigo

Sabiñánigo,

The expansion of the production capacity of the ATCC plant of the Ercros factory in Sabiñánigo already works at full capacity, which has allowed the manufacture of this product to be increased by 6,000 t/year to reach 28,000 t/year. The cost of the investment has amounted to 14 million euros.

The ATCC is used to make tablets for the treatment of pool water, a product in which Ercros is the European leader and one of the world's leading manufacturers. In 2019, 57% of ATCC sales were exported.

The expansion of ATCC production responds to the need to have a larger volume of a product under pressure from a rising market, whose plant operated at full capacity.

Additionally, the higher production volume of ATCC allows Ercros to optimize the profitability of the Sabiñánigo chlorine and soda production plant, inaugurated in 2018, since, among other applications, these two products are used as raw material in the manufacture of the ATCC.

The expansion of this plant is one of the main actions provided in the Industrial Modernization Plan and expansion of productive capacity (Act Plan) that Ercros is carrying out in the period 2016–2020, with a total amount of about 100 million Euros.

This investment began in 2018 and the commissioning process began, as planned, at the end of 2019; at present it has already reached its maximum nominal manufacturing capacity.
