What is it used for?
Fusidic acid is a steroid-structured antibiotic of the fusidan family. It is a short-spectrum bacteriostatic agent effective against gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus and Corynebacterium species. It is therefore particularly indicated for the treatment of severe dermatological and ocular infections and osteomyelitis.
Ercros supplies this product to be used as an ophthalmic cream or gel, with different particle sizes. At the customer's request, it also offers the micronised product, with a very small particle size.
Sodium fusidate is a salt derived from fusidic acid, which has the same pharmacological properties but is water-soluble, allowing it to be used in other forms (tablets and ointments).
Diaethanolamine fusidate is another salt used in veterinary medicine.
Ercros is the second largest manufacturer of fusidic acid in the world and in Europe and the first in Spain.
