Tailor-made to customer's needs
Moulding compounds are a type of solid, granular, thermosetting polymer that Ercros produces from Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) and Melamine-Formaldehyde (MF) resins. They can be compression, injection or transfer moulded into a wide variety of products.
Ercros is thethe third largest manufacturer of moulding compounds in the world, the first in Spain and the second in Europe. It produces more than 268 types of moulding compounds using its own technology, which allows it to obtain any colour on request from a palette of more than 2,000 different colours.
What are they used for?
Due to their properties (non-conductive, water and solvent resistant, and easily mechanised), moulding powders are used as a main component to manufacture:
- Toilet lids and seats, and washbasin fittings.
- Protective circuit breakers, switches, lamp holders, sockets and other low voltage electrical materials.
- Caps and containers for the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and perfumery industries.
- Plates, glasses, cups, trays, ashtrays, handles for cookware, iron handles and household goods.
- Buttons, pool balls, dominoes, door handles, etc.
