Ercros has joined the Tarragona zero pellet loss Platform, an entity led by the Catalan Government, which was created, among others, with the aim of preventing and monitoring losses and the presence of pellets in the Tarragona industrial estate and in its natural environment: rivers, streams and, ultimately, beaches and the sea.

Joan Miquel Capdevila, director of the Ercros industrial complex in Tarragona, was in charge of signing the company's adhesion to this platform.

The Platform is made up of the Government of Catalonia, the Port Authority and the Tarragona Provincial Council, as well as the Tarragona companies that form part of the international OCS (Operation Clean Sweep) programme for the responsible management of plastics throughout the value chain. The following sectoral organisations have also joined the platform: the Chemical Business Association of Tarragona, Plastics Europe and the Spanish Plastics Industry Association.

Ercros has a long tradition of monitoring and managing plastic material losses during production and logistics processes. Its Vila-seca II and Monzón factories have been members of the OCS programme since 2017, when they implemented a specific management system to ensure that no type of microplastic can accidentally escape from their production facilities and end up polluting the natural environment and the sea.
